New Zealand is a relatively small country that is made up of two main islands. The
length is roughly 1600km from top to bottom. Separating the two islands
is a stretch of water called the Cook Strait.
New Zealand is interconnected with a network of rail, bus and
ferry services that will take you to almost all destinations.
If you are considering driving yourself there are a range of
self-drive options. The main Highway(NO.1) runs the length of the country
from Cape Rienga to Bluff and is a little over 2000kms long.
You can drive in New Zealand if you have a current drivers license or
a International Drivers Permit. Please bring these documents when
you come and remember we drive on the left.
